Pancake Mix

Nothing says American breakfast like pancakes and pancake mix! Unfortunately with everything going on right now, it might be hard to get all the ingredients you need to make pancakes out of scratch. Or you just dont have a recipe. Either way, it is okay! I’m going to share with you a quick recipe that will take any box mix pancakes to the next level!

Upgraded Pancake Mix Direction Help

Obviously we will be preparing the box mix according to the directons except we will be adding, and substituting some ingredients. Once the batter is done you can use it to add your favorite toppings!

So when you are preparing the box the first thing you want to substitute is the liquid. Typically you are asked to use water, but my recommendation would be to use milk or buttermilk. This will give it a completely different taste. The next step would be to add some additional ingredients to kick it up a notch. The first thing you are going to add to your batter is either maple syrup or honey.

Personally I prefer maple syrup I typically add at least 3 tablespoons to a small batch. If these natural sweeteners are not your thing then you can use brown sugar this would also taste amazing. The next thing you will be adding is vanilla about a teaspoon. Now the last thing that I love adding to my pancakes is Marscapone Cheese. This stuff is amazing, it does unfortunately weigh down the batter but a 1/4th cup of pancake mix should help with that.

My favorite toppings are bananas, but with the fourth of July coming up soon this would be a great breakfast idea. You can create red, white, and blue pancakes for the fourth of July morning.
